BCP Cognitive Intervention Groups for Young Learners

(Grade R - Grade 3)

The Basic Concepts Programme builds essential thinking skills that help children succeed in all school subjects, especially in math, spelling, reading, and writing.

Two Basic Concepts Sessions per week are run over 3 months
Mediators facilitate small group Basic Concepts Sessions
The programme actively involves parents/teachers/caregivers

The BCP Intervention Groups are run by Master BCP Mediators in Cape Town.

Presentation was well organized and clear. The lecturer explained extensively about the content of the course. The programme should be implemented by all Foundation Phase teachers and be recognized by government. The BCP is CAPS aligned.
