Ikwezi Teacher Training, Cape Town, 2010-2012

Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 00:00
Training Session 1

Teacher training over the years (2010-2012) has been hands-on and engaging. Teachers have become familiar with the BCP training motto: "Show one, do one!"

Some comments from teachers after completing training in 2010:-

'We need to give them (the learners) an opportunity to teach us e.g. ask questions in order for you to know how much the kids know. By doing that you are engaging them (the learners)… you are giving them an opportunity to speak.'

'The Basic Concepts is a way to … help children and not teach them … so that they can think and know the meaning.'

I really think you opened our eyes to new methods of promoting learning and especially development of language.
