This training will be run by Michele Lothian, the Learning Support Advisor in this district.

Michele has extensive knowledg of the programe and is a certified trainer of the Basic Concepts Programme.

The Grade 1 and 2 teachers will be trained at this school.

The training sessions will be interspersed over the year, allowing teachers time to implement the programme before proceeding to the next conceptual domain.

The training is endorsed by Basic Concepts Unlimited.

Practical demonstration of mediation. Louis is an excellent mediator and it really helped to see it demonstrated. Loved the dedication, enthusiasm and firm belief in worth of BC approach to learning. I love the programme. I was not aware of how to introduce a concept … . If I could reverse my years in teaching, I bet I would have produced mathematicians, scientists and doctors.

The emphasis on language throughout the programme helps to develop learners' understanding of concepts and expand their vocabulary. The BCP stops learners from guessing, it gives them more structure and develops their cognitive functioning.
