Social Media Post #143: Closing the School Readiness Gap

Beyond the "Initial Bump": Proving Sustainable Educational Impact
When we implement new educational interventions, we often see an immediate rise in results. But the real challenge is: Does it last?
Our latest data comparing the Metro East Education (MEED) and Durbanville Schools Foundation (DSF) projects provides a clear answer.
- MEED (Year 1): In just one year of implementation, we've seen school readiness jump from 37.5% to 81.3%.
- DSF (Year 3): Three years into the project, and two years after the initial training phase, school readiness has moved from 35% to 85% and remained there.
This indicates that the Basic Concepts Programme (BCP) isn't just a short-term boost; it represents a fundamental shift in teacher practice and learner cognition that sustains itself over time.
