The Basic Concepts Programme and Montessori education share many important foundations.

Both recognise the value of concrete materials, carefully prepared learning environments and active learner engagement.

The BCP builds on these foundations by placing greater emphasis on intentional mediation, language development, cognitive processes and the transfer of learning through its structured Concept Teaching Model (CTM).

Rather than seeing these approaches as competing philosophies, we believe they offer valuable perspectives with a shared purpose: helping children develop the concepts and thinking skills they need for lifelong learning.
